BCBELA, a provincial organization empowering Black educators in B.C., needed a modern, research-led website to amplify advocacy, membership, partnerships, and donations in a single, cohesive hub. La Fleur Digital led discovery, design, development, and delivery.
BCBELA’s presence was constrained to a basic Wix site, limiting their ability to attract members, partners, and donors. Despite powerful advocacy work, their fragmented online identity failed to communicate their vision or support user engagement. User interviews revealed frustrations around finding relevant resources, connecting with other educators, and navigating unclear calls to action. Without a professional digital presence, BCBELA risked losing opportunities to influence policy, provide mentorship, and secure funding.
We followed a structured 4D process (Discovery → Design → Development → Delivery) and anchored every decision in user research. Drawing inspiration from equity-focused organizations, we emphasized clarity, intuitive navigation, and bold visuals. Insights from User interviews shaped headlines, CTAs, and content hierarchy, while a custom WordPress CMS powered a fully responsive platform. The result: a cohesive hub for resources, events, membership, partnerships, and donations, unified by BCBELA’s vibrant palette, Ubuntu-inspired voice, and Sankofa symbolism.
