R&B Retreats

The brief

R&B Retreats provides a tranquil escape for a variety of clients: from retired fishers to busy families and remote workers. As the lead product designer on this project, I was responsible for capturing the essence of their diverse offerings through a custom-designed, responsive website tailored to meet the unique requirements of each client demographic.

Problem

Our complex dilemma was creating a digital experience that could meet the diverse needs of its varied audience. Whether it was Bob Fisher, the fishing enthusiast enjoying his retirement, the Smith family eager for a memorable vacation, or Sarah Johnson, a marketer who works remotely—the challenge was to offer a seamless and quality experience for all. Failure to solve this problem could result in a one-size-fits-none experience, alienating potential clients. As a product designer, I stepped in to address this diverse user problem, aiming to deliver a platform that combines top-tier functionality with a design that speaks to each unique customer persona.

Solution

Leveraging a suite of specialized tools, the solution was designed to create a tailored experience for each user persona. Figma served as the cornerstone for the visual design, while Adobe Photoshop enhanced the imagery and Trello organized the workflow and tasks. Through efficient coordination and task management, the website met the varied needs of its audience. For Bob Fisher, the site featured a customized filter option to highlight eco-friendly rentals near prime fishing locations. The Smith family could easily find their ideal getaway by navigating to the “Family-friendly amenities” section, which showcased rentals complete with pools and playgrounds. Meanwhile, Sarah Johnson had a dedicated “Internet and office” category under amenities, listing properties with high-speed internet and quiet workspaces.

Result

Achieved a 25% rise in user interaction within the first month of site launch, confirming that the tailor-made features successfully connected with targeted customer personas.

Received numerous glowing reviews, most notably from the fishing community, who found the eco-friendly and fishing-specific features to be a major asset.

Marked a 15% increase in conversion rates, indicating that users were actively engaging in desired actions like making bookings and inquiries, as opposed to merely browsing the listings.

Achieved a 10% decrease in bounce rates due to enhanced UI/UX designs that specifically catered to distinct customer needs, solidifying a transition from their prior Airbnb-only presence to a more customized digital platform.
